1) ABOUT THE NATGEO EARTH DAY RUN 2013
What is the NatGeo Earth Day Run 2013?
The NatGeo Earth Day Run is a running event which aims to promote the conservation and concern for our fragile environment. It is basically a fun run encouraging people to run for Mother Earth.
When will the NatGeo Earth Day Run 2013 be held?
The NatGeo Earth Day Run 2013 is scheduled on Sunday, April 28, 2013
Where is the venue of the run?
The NatGeo Earth Day Run 2013 venue will be at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City
What are the race categories available?
The NatGeo Earth Day Run 2013 will have the following run categories:
- 3km
- 5km
- 10km
- 21k
What earth-friendly race features can we expect from this event?
To ensure that this event is properly aligned with its belief in caring for Mother Earth, the following earth-friendly event features will be put in place:
- Race kits to be used will be made out of recycled materials
- Registration will be paper-less and will utilize the biometrics system of registration
- Marshals on event day will not be using motorbikes but bikes
- Water bottles will be given as part of the NatGeo race kit to encourage runners to use it in lieu of paper/plastic cups. Hydration stations will be available in the entire route to refill each participant’s water bottle.
- For each runner who registers for this event, 3 trees will be planted in his/her name
2) REGISTRATION
How can I join?
You can participate in this event by signing-up via Online Registration at http://natgeorun.com or via On-Ground registration at the NatGeo Earth Day
Run 2013 Registration Kiosk located at the Ground Floor of the Greenbelt 3 Mall, in front of the Asics store.
How much is the registration fee?
The following will be the registration fee per run category and the corresponding inclusions:
- 3km - Php500.00
- 5km - Php600.00
- 10km- Php700.00
Race kit made out of recycled materials, Water bottle, Name plate for the tree planting, Race shirt upon registration.
- 21km - Php900.00
Race kit made out of recycled materials, Water bottle, Name plate for the tree planting, Race shirt upon registration, and Finisher's Shirt.
Is the registration fee refundable or transferable?
The registration fee is non-refundable. It is also non-transferable.
Is change of run category possible?
No. A participant who has already registered for a particular run category cannot change it to a lower or higher-distance category. We suggest that runners make sure that they sign-up for the category that they are ready or have trained-well for.
If I am unable to pursue with my participation in the event, can I choose to withdraw or back-out?
Yes. However, participants who choose not to take part in the event after registering cannot be given any registration fee refund because fees are non-refundable. It is also worth to note that as fees are not refundable, the slot which the withdrawing participant registered for is also non-transferable.
3) THE ACTUAL RUN
What time are we expected to be at the venue and what time will the run actually start?
The following are the assembly and gun start schedule per run category:
Where can I leave my belongings?
Baggage deposit tents will be available for all participants. To avoid delays, it is recommended that participants arrive earlier than the prescribed schedule to allot time
for baggage deposit.
While the organizer assures safety and security of your belongings being entrusted to the baggage deposit tents, the organizers cannot be held liable for any loss or damage that may happen to your deposited items. Thus, it is advised that participants do not leave any valuable items inside the bags being deposited.
Will there be hydration stations along the run course?
Yes, there will be hydration stations that will be strategically placed along the entire route to provide Summit Mineral Water and Coco Fresh Natural Coconut Water to the participants.
100 Plus Sports Drink will also be given away to the participants when they reach the finish line.
However, as this is a green race, each participant is encouraged to bring their water bottles (one will be provided as part of the race inclusion) as there will be no drinking cups to be provided in the hydration stations.
Will there be first aid stations along the race course?
Yes first aid stations will be available during the event. Aside from this, a mobile paramedic team will also be in place.
Will there be finisher’s items to be provided to each participant who will finish in his/her chosen run category?
All 21km finishers will receive a Finisher’s Shirt.
5) PARTICIPANTS
What are the measurements of the NatGeo Earth Day Run Shirt?

What if I choose not to wear the shirt on the actual run, will I still be allowed to participate?
The organizer is prescribing that the NatGeo Earth Day Run 2013 official shirt be worn by participants during the actual run. However, participants will not be prevented to participate if they decide not to wear it.
What drinks will be available for us?
The hydration stations will provide participants with Summit Mineral Water and Coco Fresh Natural Coconut Water.
6) PRIZES
Will prizes be awarded for each run category?
The NatGeo Earth Day Run 2013’s main objective is to encourage people to run for Mother Earth and help plant trees in the process. However, top finishers of the following categories will still be given due recognition and will be awarded for an outstanding finish:
- 3km Cherifer Premium
- 5km Open
- 10km Open
- 10km Elite
- 21km Open
- 21km Elite
Where and when will the awarding of prizes be held?
The Awarding Ceremony will be held at the NatGeo Earth Day Run 2013 Activity area on event day.
